NEWS LETTER
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Peace and love now and always! Amen. We thank God for a successful completion of the 2nd term 2023/2024 Academic session. Within this session, we tremendously recorded many interesting events, activities, programs and functions which both the students and staff participated.
- ADMINISTRATION:
There are three Priests working currently in the school; the principal (Rev. Fr. Callistus Ajaero, CM – 08037242352), the Vice-Principal (Rev. Fr. Fidelis Alozie, CM – 07038983705) and the spiritual Director-Chaplain (Rev. Fr. Isaiah Agina CM – 08100078968).
- STUDENTS’ DAILY ROUTINES:
The daily programs made for the students are for their moral, spiritual, mental, intellectual, social and physical development.
Spiritual Life: There are daily Masses for the students; they have retreats both at the beginning and at the end of every term. Priests are always available to hear their confessions. They also have conferences with the principal at intervals. In addition, they have societal meetings, catechesis, and benediction.
Academics: The students on daily basis attend classes of various subjects. They indulge in note copying, assignments, class works, quizzes and debates for their intellectual formation and development. This time also, their mental health, social and physical health is assessed.
Other activities include: Moring prayer, morning jogging, breakfast, morning function, classes, afternoon prayer, lunch, siesta, labour, games, evening prayer, supper, social night, evening prep, choir practices and night prayer.
- PROGRESS:
Without mincing words, the students are doing marvelously well in all aspects of their formation. This is evident in their results in the academic aspect, their DOs and Don’ts as regarding morality, their social life, health and virtually everything.
All these are achieved because you (parents) have supported us immensely and we wish and pray that the support should not stop as it has been our fuel and supporting tool all these while. Thanks plentifully.
- EXCURSION:
The school while in the last meeting of students and Principal has agreed to embark on an excursion during the third term session. This said excursion is not compulsory. The agreed levy for the excursion is #3,000 only and should be paid in cash either on resumption or during the term but before the trip day.
- CHALLENGES:
Poor responses to payments of school fees and levies were among the challenges the school underwent. In the just concluded term, the school management found it very difficult paying her staff, buying learning materials and even purchasing food items because of lack of fund. The school fees of students are the basic source of income used to run the institution. But when this payment is not done the management suffers managing the school.
We solicit that in the coming term, you help us to eradicate this challenge so as to get things in place and on time.
We also encountered some challenges in the course of the just concluded term and have come up with the following decisions to tackle the problems. Below are our decisions:
- Due to the season and the rise of malaria, students are to come back with treated mosquito net for personal use.
- The students are expected to come back with Izal or dettol or preferred disinfectant for sanitary purpose.
- The students are also expected to come back with personal toiletries like: tissue papers, detergents, hypo, washing and bathing soaps, roll-ons, tooth pastes and tooth brushes, shoe polish, etc.
- Each student must have at least two bathing buckets so as to enable steady storage of water for washing up.
- The students are expected to come back with half dozen of Handkerchiefs.
- The students are expected to come back with cutlass with their names written on it.
- Endeavour the students come back with necessary things like: belt, stockings, undies, writing materials, etc.
- Another prevailing challenge is theft. We have actually put in place modalities to curb this prevailing abnormality in the school. To fully achieve this, we beg you (parents) to help us with the following:
- Don’t give your ward/child (ren) cash to keep themselves (send to school pocket account or discuss with the seminarians).
- Endeavor to provide padlocks for them.
- Monogram their names on their wears and other properties for easy identification.
- Education primarily begins with parents; conscientize your ward/child (ren) on the need to live a virtuous and moral life.
- Try to provide the basic and necessary things for them. With this, they may not look elsewhere.
- If the items listed above are given due consideration, they will go a long way to reduce if not discard the vice of stealing in our school and subsequently, the world at large.
- CHAPEL:
It is very obvious and crystal clear that our country is bleeding exceedingly as cost of living and hike in things are now the order of the day. We will never neglect your efforts and support towards us. Indeed, you all are wonderful.
The saying goes “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. We are currently renovating our Chapel (place of Worship) which is why our students have gone home with an appeal card to solicit for funds to renovate our Chapel.
Please assist them the much you can to help us build God a fitting domain. In the cards, the school account details are scribed there. You can still use any of the accounts below for donation and support. You are always in our prayers (Mark 11:24).
